Description
A series of posters I was commissioned to make for the original Victorian-era play; Penny Black.
I really wanted to go for a look that would appeal to more mainstream audiences. Being somebody who would normally never go to theatre productions, I wanted to create something that would catch my eye and make me want to find out more about the production if I saw it posted up somewhere. My reasoning behind gearing the look more away from the aesthetic of traditional period-piece theatre is that the core fan-base would want to go anyway; it's the rest you'd need to convince to make a change.
Photography was taken by Tom Cramond, who is mad talented. The collaboration went really smoothly and he delivered more than I asked for based on very loose ideas.
The playbill will be appearing soon as well.

Oh, also, are there individual images of the top two posters? I thought both of them were especially striking...
